Do you care about the endangered wildlife of the Peak District? 🐝

Do you care about the endangered wildlife of the Peak District? 🐝

a special exhibition by eight local artists:
All artists taking part are committed to preserve and protect our wildlife and to promote this through their wonderful artwork.

Saturday August 6th from 2:00-6:00pm
The exhibition will be on until August 31st.

Global warming and climate change, deforestation, hunting, overfishing, invasive species and nitrogen pollution are all modern causes of the loss and degradation of habitat that threatens the existence of many of our wildlife. Unfortunately our lovely Peak District is not immune. Many of our local artists recognise these issues and we have invited them to this very special exhibition to help create awareness of the ecological disaster that is threatening this beautiful environment on our doorstep, one we tend to take for granted.

Artists including Sue Prince, Wendy Darker and Mark Langley endeavour to capture images of threatened species in their art, thus preserving them for future generations. Ingrid Karlsson and Sue Lewis-Blake show the devastating impact on the environment as well as how to address the damage; Vivienne Sillar captures the endangered wildlife in her beautiful ceramic work and Yuka Jourdain uses recycled material in her jewellery and other creative objects, while Bethan Nadin creates a stunning backdrop of these threatened areas in the Peak District.
