Tim Croke is probably best known for his striking abstract landscapes that he paints from his base in Derbyshire UK. Having an interest in art from a young age he was lucky to have an artistic family who would encourage his creative nature.
He has been a professional artist for most of his adult life in one form or another but recently has been drawn to a more abstract style involving dramatic sky or atmospheric outer space themes. Although his artwork could be described as abstract it’s obvious that everything is carefully considered and meticulously crafted. He considers his own style to be constantly evolving rather than put barriers to his creative process.
Generally starting with various textural materials on canvas, he uses brushes and palette knives with acrylic to work out a framework from which he switches to oils to create the final vision. Rather than giving massive descriptions of his art he prefers the viewer to have their own take on it whether that be a journey to a distant space or a reflection of their own experience.
