Peter maintained his interest in art throughout his career in education. He began to sketch and paint in earnest once again when he retired in 2011 – 12. He attended several of Lewis Noble’s workshops at St. John’s Gallery and Café. These sessions re-kindled his interest in drawing and painting outdoors. His style has developed over time and is now free and bolder than before.
Peter strives to capture the essence of the landscape he is responding to but not in a realistic pictorial way. He works using pastel, acrylic paint, pencil and Indian ink to create his unique and emotional response to the time spent within the landscape.
Peter has had work accepted and displayed in The Emporium Gallery in Lichfield, Staffordshire as part of “The Lichfield Prize” during The Lichfield Festival both in 2015 and 2016. His paintings can be seen in the Gallery.
